What is DeCripto?
Verified at the primary source
It is Brazil's Crypto-Asset Declaration (Declaração de Criptoativos), created by Receita Federal Normative Instruction (IN RFB) No. 2,291/2025. From 1 July 2026 it replaces the reporting system of IN RFB No. 1,888/2019 and follows the OECD reporting standard (Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework, CARF), used for the automatic exchange of information between tax administrations.
"the Receita Federal Normative Instruction deals exclusively with data collection; the taxation of crypto assets is not addressed in the act." (Receita Federal, news release of 17/03/2026, free translation)
